M57 - The Ring Nebula

23:50 5/8/2004 UTC

This is my very first real attempt on fainter objects. Now that my mount is equipped with drives I can shoot up to maximum exposure time of 15" of my camera. During the August, Finnish skies are getting darker and darker every day. This time there will be no astronomical darkness yet but brighter objects are already visible so I decided to give a try to image one. Vega was easiest to spot in twilight and so challenged myself to capture M57, The Ring Nebula. I was really happy to see a ring shaped object in my Camera LCD!
