M42 - The Orion Nebula (Ha:OIII)
19:43 15/12/2006 UTC
I got my OIII filter few days ago. I wanted to try bicolor narrowband imaging with H-alfa and OIII filters. Unfortunately I had just replaced my focuser (and lost the finder base) and couldn't use my finder, because a little mechanical problem. M42 was only Emission nebula I could find into Canon's chip without finder so it had to be the target. M42 is very difficult to image and visible only for about one and a half an hour from my backyard. Nothing special, but my very first Ha:OIII image!
